Time for a Snack

I’ve been obsessed with avocados lately, just snacking on a half straight from the shell, sprinkled with a little salt. It’s a healthy and satisfying treat. But after reading that my friend Nicole at Love Life and her son Luca add honey and lemon to the mix, I now have a new favorite way to enjoy them. So, so good.
Update: Jeannie left a comment suggesting avocado with a drizzle of soy sauce, which I’ll be trying with my very next one. So what’s YOUR favorite way to enjoy avocados? I’d love to hear more suggestions!

MM looks amazing! What’s also good, if you’re feeling more savory, is just adding kikkoman soy sauce to it
Now THAT is good.

Thanks, Jeannie! I’ll give that a try next time. I’m definitely more of a savory than sweets person.

I actually like to mash them with a bit of dijon mustard. Anything to get a mustard fix I guess.

Mashed chunky with a bit of Dijon mustard and soy sauce, served on toast with a bit of pepper. A fried egg on top if you’re feeling extra peckish!

Sliced and salted served on whole wheat toast lightly brushed with mayonnaise. But I’ll trying them with soy sauce real soon.

Mashed with lemon and salt and eaten on toast. Mmm. I work in cheese and charcuterie and one of my customers has sliced avocado on toast topped with a thin slice of fried pancetta for breakfast every day!

Oh – what a new idea with the honey! I like mine with lime juice, s & p, with a bit of garlic mashed on a cracker. But maybe that’s just guacamole?

Yeah I’m pretty sure you just turned three of my favorite things into a snack. Scrumptious!

A crazy combination but a wonderful breakfast, lunch, or dinner… diced avocado and poached egg on a bed of brown rice drizzled with Heidi Swanson’s (101cookbooks) cilantro-chile sauce.
Awesome. And now I’m drooling.

Love avocados too! Usually have them on toast mashed up with lemon, pepper & salt or sliced with sliced tomatoes, a sprinkle of dukkah or ras al hanout and a drizzle of oregano oil (pics on my blog) – perfect for b’fast, snack, lunch…whenever!
