Unrequired Reading: December 3, 2010

It’s our Hanukkah edition of Unrequired Reading! Lots of Jewish posts for you to check out!

Jewp it up!

* * *

Zarkov, tell me more about this man, Jewdini.

* * *

Everyone farts. Even Jews.

* * *

Jewcheology! (with the added bonus of the line, “As Eilat Mazar says with palpable satisfaction, ‘This is the end of Finkelstein’s school.'”)

* * *

Jew had to be there. (Seriously, this story about the convertito of San Nicandro is mind-blowing.)

* * *

Maybe you were expecting Jewmanji! next, but all you get is the quantity of Four Loko it takes to kill someone.

* * *

Washington, D.C.: Hollywood for ugly people! Also, not a fertile site for the novel? (Also, Christopher Hitchens discovered that he’s Jewish, so this counts as part of this week’s theme.)

* * *

Keith Richards on . . . early recording technology’s role in the development of jazz and blues? He can think? (Okay, he’s not Jewish at all.)

* * *

The most boring day in history.

* * *

Also, you might spill your drink?

* * *

After you read this piece on adapting The Great Gatsby, you oughtta listen to this Kurt Andersen/Studio-360 podcast about Fitzgerald and his great novel. It’s about 50 minutes long, but there’s plenty of good stuff in it. (Also, maybe Gatsby was Jewish?)

* * *

And, just because, the video for one of my favorite songs ever:

Don’t give me crap about the clothes, hair and art styles. It was 1987, okay?
