Don’t you find Taleb’s writing a bit condescending? I love the topic, but….
You are 100% correct! I was reading a sample on my Kindle (the intro and the first few chapters), finished it, and thought, “Man, this guy is a douche.” I’m into the topic, too, but I reached the end of the sample, the Kindle asked if I wanted to buy the rest of the book, and I just deleted the file. Pfeh.
Instead, I decided it’d be nice to take a break last night from these financials and analyses by downloading a copy of Hadji Murad and rereading that. Fortunately, I’m dosed to the gills on Xanax & gin this issue, so I can’t read very much before passing out.
I’ll probably read Peter Bernstein’s book Against the Gods, for more on the topic of risk.
