From 1984 until 2016, he was also the editor in chief of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smu.edu\/southwestreview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southwest Review<\/a>. He has written many books and essays about English and American poetry. For more than thirty years, he has been a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/search\/term.html?keyword=willard%20spiegelman&amp;mod=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regular contributor<\/a> to the Leisure and Arts pages of <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>.
