This pair jump-started the wave of new translations of the Russians with their 1990 edition of Dostoevsky&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0865474222?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=virtualmemories-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0865474222\">The Brothers Karamazov<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=virtualmemories-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0865474222\" style=\"border: medium none  ! important; margin: 0px ! important\" border=\"0\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" \/>, the hardcover of which was the most expensive novel I ever bought (as far as I can recall)!
