A pal gave this to me for my birthday a few years ago. I haven&#8217;t read it, but I noticed that it&#8217;s available on <a href=\"http:\/\/manybooks.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Manybooks<\/a> for my Kindle, so I loaded it up for this trip. Oh, and I finished Book Two of Montaigne&#8217;s essays, which means I&#8217;m heading into the home-stretch. Zowie. But I was too busy this weekend to write about it, so Monday Morning Montaigne is on hiatus this week.<\/p>\n<p>What I&#8217;m listening to: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B001FMYPEY?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=virtualmemories-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B001FMYPEY\">Radio Retaliation<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=virtualmemories-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B001FMYPEY\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/> by Thievery Corporation, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B000V8YSTA?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=virtualmemories-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B000V8YSTA\">La Radiolina<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=virtualmemories-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B000V8YSTA\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/> by Manu Chao, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B000TENE6Y?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=virtualmemories-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B000TENE6Y\">OK Computer<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=virtualmemories-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B000TENE6Y\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/> by Radiohead. But not Radio Radio by Elvis Costello.<\/p>\n<p><em>What I&#8217;m watching:<\/em> Ricky Gervais&#8217; standup special, the first half of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0072890\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dog Day Afternoon<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0775529\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Savages<\/a>. Gervais was a hoot, but I found it even funnier that I have no idea who &#8220;he&#8221; is, in relation to his two best-known characters.<\/p>\n<p><em>What I&#8217;m drinking:<\/em> G&amp;Ts with this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qtonic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Q Tonic<\/a>, a high-end tonic I picked up. And boy, are they awesome. Down with corn syrup!<\/p>\n<p><em>What Rufus is up to:<\/em> Probably pining away for me by now. And it looks like he convinced one of my neighbors to adopt a greyhound when her husband retires and they get a new dog.<\/p>\n<p><em>Where I&#8217;m going:<\/em> Atlanta for the AAPS meeting. In fact, I&#8217;m in Atlanta right now!<\/p>\n<p><em>What I&#8217;m happy about:<\/em> I had The Realization about the novel I should write. Now I gotta get writin&#8217;!<\/p>\n<p><em>What I&#8217;m sad about:<\/em> Being away from Amy &amp; Rufus.<\/p>\n<p><em>What I&#8217;m pondering:<\/em> Whether I was tempting fate by time-stamping this post for Monday morning right before getting on a plane Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What I&#8217;m reading: You Know Me, Al, by Ring Lardner.
