What I’m reading:<\/em> I finished A Drifting Life<\/a>\"\", and started Edwin Mullhouse<\/a>\"\", which came up in last week’s 0-fer<\/a> post.<\/p>\n

What I’m listening to:<\/em> I had Underworld Day<\/a> at my office last week. That kept everyone away.<\/p>\n

What I’m watching:<\/em> Things Change<\/a>, Napoleon Dynamite<\/a>, Get Shorty<\/a>, some Arrested Development<\/a>, and the second-to-last episode of this season of The Deadliest Catch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What I’m drinking:<\/em> Juniper Green<\/a>, another one of my snooty-ass highbrow gins.<\/p>\n

What Rufus is up to:<\/em> Another grey-hike<\/a>, a bath. We were considering taking care of the latter this weekend, and his decision during the former to start tromping through muddy puddles sealed the deal.<\/p>\n

Where I’m going:<\/em> Scotch-Bowl night this Saturday! It’s a big benefit evening for our greyhound rescue group<\/a>. I get to show off my dainty wrists by weakly flinging a bowling ball. Joy!<\/p>\n

What I’m happy about:<\/em> That Rickey Henderson’s Hall of Fame induction speech<\/a> was as entertaining as I’d hoped.<\/p>\n

What I’m sad about:<\/em> Having to revise my opinion that Fight Club<\/a> was 2\/3rds of a good movie before going off the rails. Upon review, it’s turn-for-the-bad takes place almost exactly at the halfway point.<\/p>\n

What I’m worried about:<\/em> That you guys will get get mad if I use bit.ly<\/a> URLs instead of the original URLs for Unrequired Reading<\/a> links. Let me know if that would bother you. That is, do you roll over my links and see where they point before you click through? If you do, then my converting over to bit.ly would be a problem.<\/p>\n

What I’m pondering:<\/em> Whether the process of re-scanning all my books for Delicious Library<\/a> will lead to my chucking at least 100 more of them into the “I’ll never read this in my lifetime” pile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
