{"id":584,"date":"2005-07-25T22:25:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-26T02:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chimeraobscura.com\/vmalt\/?p=584"},"modified":"2005-12-10T16:50:44","modified_gmt":"2005-12-10T21:50:44","slug":"be-creative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/chimeraobscura.com\/vm\/be-creative","title":{"rendered":"Be Creative!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I read <a href=\"http:\/\/businessweek.com\" target=\"_blank\">BusinessWeek<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/economist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Economist<\/a>, and some other bizmags and <a href=\"http:\/\/janegalt.net\" target=\"_blank\">econobloggers<\/a> a lot (can&#8217;t say enough about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nypost.com\/business\/business.htm\" target=\"_blank\">New York Post&#8217;s John Crudele<\/a>). Outside of my own <a href=\"http:\/\/contractpharma.com\" target=\"_blank\">industry<\/a> (as a Pharma observer), I like to see read interpretations of how industries function, how business works, and why money does what it does. I haven&#8217;t come to any grand conclusions about this stuff, but I am gratified that elegant design of consumer goods is on the upswing. <a href=\"http:\/\/dynamist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Virginia Postrel<\/a> writes about this a lot, and I plan to read her recent book on the subject, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0060933852\/voyantpublishing\" target=\"_blank\">The Substance of Style<\/a>, later this year.<\/p>\n<p>All of that is a preface to saying that <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">BusinessWeek<\/span> has just launched an <a href=\"http:\/\/businessweek.com\/innovate\/\" target=\"_blank\">Innovation &amp; Design<\/a> site, covering all those subjects that I adore.
