Me too- I was a smart kid with no idea what to read. I went to a local mall bookstore and started with “A.”
Luckily this was right on top!
I think it was an issue of the Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans where I first saw mention of the Hitchhiker’s Guide; I think that’s what got me started, but it was 40+ years ago.
