I don&#8217;t remember any office furniture flying through the air but, according to the <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">NYTimes<\/span>, there&#8217;s an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/08\/19\/health\/19magnet.html\" target=\"_blank\">epidemic of accidents<\/a> caused by the strong magnets in the equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The story sounds fine, but the pictures they posted with it (courtesy of Dr. Moriel NessAvier, who has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.simplyphysics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">website on MRI safety<\/a>) make me think it&#8217;s a hoax.<\/p>\n<p>As the official VM fiancee put it, &#8220;Mr. Smith, I&#8217;ve found the problem.
