I managed to make it through a whole year of being 40! Today I’m turning 41 and I don’t know what to do with myself. (That sounds like a Morrissey song title.)
In honor of the new year and my new year, I recorded “season 2″ of Virtual Memories radio. I promise to get these podcasts out regularly, and to make ‘em less Gil-centric than they’ve been.

You didn’t even try, but this post was very funny–starting with the title. Interview subjects …? Can you get your boy Ron Rosenbaum on here? That would be cool.
And Harold Bloom. An aquaintance of mine interviewed him & said he’s really not that hard to get hold of. He’s probably today’s champeen reader.
A fun podcast that sounds almost like a movie set up (the overweight parents, the skinny kid reading at the table & ignoring his Big Kahuna Burger–or whatever it was–and then your niece. The two of them would go to the same school but not know each other until the audience had wished for it enough … well, whatever Hollywood would do with it, it’s a great little vignette to be classified under Americana. And now I know who Bach is.
