One my pals, Sang Lee, was found dead in his apartment yesterday, apparently victim of a heart attack. I’m pretty grief-stricken right now, so my final Man Out of Time post is on hold for the moment.

I am so sorry, and so shocked, Gil – I remember meeting him when we were on the way to Newark once and stopped in briefly at your friend’s apartment – Vince was there too – what shocking news –
This is sad. And something you can expect to experience with increasing regularity as you and your friends age. I am at an age where the drip has just turned to a trickle–and it scares me.
You may want to consider using your considerable writing skill to share with the rest of us what made him a special person to you.
Zeke: I’m working on that right now, as a matter of fact. I’m finding it really difficult, because of how low-key and yet all-encompassing our friendship and conversation were, and how far we drifted apart in . . . geez . . . the last five years or so.
I’m so sorry, Gil. How awful. That same day, a good friend of ours had a baby. Such joy and such pain all in the same day.
Gil, I am truely sorry for your loss. This was a great shock and a tremendous loss for me as well. I am no writer, but that seems to be what I turn to these days. I look forward to reading anything you might share in the future about this man who meant so much to us. He was one of a kind. My deepest sympathies are with you.
