When visiting Vancouver several years ago, I picked up a copy of the local newspaper and came across one of Ann Coulter’s syndicated columns. It was one of my first experiences reading her instead of reading about her, and my reaction was, “I don’t know if I agree or disagree with her argument, since I can’t actually follow her argument.” Talk about dangling sentences and non sequiters… I suppose if you’re a celebrity pundit, competence as a writer isn’t required. It’s like the writing version of truthiness – if you feel that you’ve achieved eloquent expression then grammar, coherence and cogency don’t really matter.
Dude, A-Tax made out with her! Ask him about that sometime.
