I’ve read several books (and one really bad article) by his son before, but this week’s literary 0-fer is . . . Kingsley Amis, CBE!
I plan on correcting that 0-fer later this year when I delve into his Everyday Drinking collection. As soon as I stop drinking every day, that is.
Any of you have any experience with the elder Amis?
I liked “Lucky Jim” a lot, and didn’t make it through “I Want It Now,” although that may not have had anything to do with the book. (You know how it is.)
I keep “King’s English” next to Fowler and Garner, within arm’s reach of my desk.
