Unrequired Reading: Oct. 9, 2009

It’s been another wipeout of a week for me, dear readers. But I’ve got one of my 20-year high school reunions coming up this weekend, so I’m trying to enhealthify. Not that you care. You’re just here to see the latest collection of links that I think you sortamaybe should read. So just click “more”!

I’m kinda interested in this conversation between Andrew Sullivan and Ta-Nehisi Coates about conservatism, change, and oppression, and Coates’ follow-up post about it. This is one of those times I’m reminded that my first-gen status as a Jew in America — with parents who were children in Europe during the war — has left me with some peculiar perspectives on those aforementioned topics.

I. Am. So. Pissed. Off. (Now I’m going to have to hit a Clippers game when I’m in L.A. next month instead. Grr. . .)
